Uganda- Kapchorwa Mt. Elgon- Medium
What we taste: Fruity and lush — Strawberry, Blueberry, Honey with a smooth Chocolate finish
Hand-picked coffee at a high ripeness and high altitude result in a fruity, well-balanced coffee.
Located almost in the center of the African continent, bordering Lake Victoria and the source of the Nile River, Uganda, formerly known as the "Pearl of Africa," is now Africa's largest coffee exporter. Mount Elgon is one of East Africa's oldest volcanoes, and its 3,500 square kilometers of base makes it the largest in Africa. The foothills of Mount Elgon are blessed with volcanic ash soil and abundant rainfall, creating ideal conditions for producing the finest Arabica coffee.
This product is a natural product produced at a washing plant in the Kapchorwa region.
Kapchorwa is at a high altitude, experiences heavy rainfall, and enjoys limited sunshine. Therefore, the natural process involves slow drying in greenhouses.
Farmers bring fresh coffee cherries to the washing plant in Kapchorwa, and only the heavier, ripe cherries are transported to the greenhouses where they are dried under controlled conditions on African beds.
Enjoy the rich fruity flavor brought about by this high altitude and the uniform, highly ripe coffee cherries hand-picked by farmers.
